We loved the English comedian 2, it was really a global hilarious perspective on the global playground. I felt a bit sorry for the guy who voted on Bush and was honest (or stupid) enough to mention this in plain public ;-) But it was a evening we will remember as a good one. We are glad that we stopped at the Hilton for some dinner.

The "guy" was not a fan of Obama. He didn't say he voted for another guy. And by now people should have noticed that there was no "Change".

Real positive change (without collateral damage) is something that only exits in a fairytale. It takes decades to undo the damage what's been done to the american public. Is it a good or bad thing ? Time will tell. And when you watched the David Letterman show on this topic I must agree it takes some commitment and focus to see the real differences. But it was fun to see it in a humorous perspective. It's quite easy to bully politicians, it's much more complex if you want to solve something..

Not sure what sort of change people expect within 18 months after the 8 years train wreck that was handed over to the guy, didn't know he has a magic wand to perform miracles, I really despair of the short term thinking..I really do.

Nobody expected him to wave his hand and have all problems resolved. People did expect him to stop the rampant illegal wiretapping, not endorse it. To keep to his promise of a more transparent government. To stop rushed bills. To appoint new blood, not the old cronies.

He's a smart, competent and diplomatic man. There is no comparison between him and Bush. But still he panders to the status quo, and _there_, there is no change.

You might be right but I think right now, there are more pressing issues - Healthcare and Financial overhaul have eaten up a lot of his credibility, but better spend it there than on the wiretapping thingy and be accused by the rabid right of endangering the US. America isn't an autocracy, he needs to work with everyone and the Party of NO isn't making it easy.
Sorry everyone, I am out. Maybe we should move this to the message boards.

I had a great time once again! I met some nice people that came to the meetup for the first time...hope to see you all again. I thought both were funny...although I did like the English one better. Great night Mike thanks for putting it together.
