Hey Everyone,
Well it’s that time again for another one of our 80’s – 90’s party.
Because we are revamping the party a little we are adding more decorations, two New DJ’s, pictures of previous Xpat parties on the TV screens, all staff will also be dressed in 80’s- 90-s costumes, face painting, smoke machines, more Free Jagermeisters, more PEOPLE….yes we are inviting more Expat groups! We are also having a contest for people who choose to dress in 80's or 90's attire..of course this isn't mandatory...but you could win some great prizes.
To this event we are also inviting the CANADIAN EXPAT group to come party the night away with us. I also have pictures of that group to add to the TV Screens as well…No one is safe from the Camera when I am around.
SO let’s get together and re-live this fabulous time in history and dance the night away and meet some really nice people.
The party starts at 10:00 PM and the FREE Jagermeister shots will be given away between 10:00 and 11:00 so if you want a free drink you better come early! I also recommend coming early to socialize and to meet people. It’s always easier to meet people before the music gets going.

What happens in Simple stays at Simple.......not. I AM BRINGING A CAMERA!!
Be warned.

Think Miami Vice .. Don Johnson. Men wore casual t-shirts under designer jackets. A Hawaiian shirt was essential in their wardrobe in this era. There was no icon bigger than Michael Jackson. From leather studded jackets to slouchy and oversized tops, men wore clothes that resemble Michael’s unique style. Not only were studded leather jackets popular but leather bomber jackets were as well. Men often mimicked the look of bands such as Poison or Metallica.
What would make it more fun than dressing up in an 80s and 90s outfit? Yes its time to break out your leg warmers, side ponytails, shoulder pads and Miami vice costumes! Below is list of ideas how to dress for the party in case you dont know what they wore during this era. Or if just too young to remember ( I wish..lol.) Of course this isnt mandatory, but we will be giving away prizes for best costumes!!! So lets get creative.
This will be my 1st meetup with you guys, anything i need to know? Did i even post this in the right place? :P
Hey Mark,
Yes you posted this in the right place. When you get there you can come look for me and I can introduce you to some people...otherwise everyone there is also pretty friendly. You can also just introduce yourself to people..90% of people there are Xpats like you and are very welcoming. We have a lot of people come alone and don't know anyone...so don't be nervous. See ya soon:))
THANK YOU GINGER FOR A GREAT NIGHT!!! I missed the Jaeger shots because I was fashionably late :o) but the face painter, the music and the contest were great!
It was such a pity that somebody called me up contingently last night and eventually I missed this event!
Only hope to see you guys in the near future.
It was a great party.. I am glad i joined it.
Thanks Ginger, Barbara for organizing it!
Regards,
Aravind

Women often sported large baggie tops over tight, tapered slacks. Leggings were popular, as was spandex and Lycra fabrics. Dressing up as a popular rock or pop star is another idea. This would include colorful characters such as Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, and Blondie. The key here is the bigger and bolder the better. Remember BIG HAIR, for women it was like a competition to see who could produce the biggest hair-do.
