Where are you from originally? Where else have you lived?

I am originally from Manchester; UK, but have lived in the Czeck Republic, Germany, the USA, and of course the Netherlands. I have also done businees in Sweden and Denmark.

What brought you to Amsterdam/The Netherlands? How long have you been living here?

I came to Amstelveen last February to work for HP on the ABN-AMRO RBS demerger, and also worked for ABN-AMRO for two and half years in 2001.

What types of events are you most interested in?

Meeting people socially at bar/restaurants, and helping each other to learn Dutch.

What times are best for you? Weekdays, weekends, nights, days, etc.?

Most evenings and weekends.

  • Hi Andrew, Sorry you don't like the name badges. I can only say that one will never please everyone although we try our best. The vast majority of members find the badges helpful. You are entirely free not to wear one when attending. See at the next meetup. dave

  • Dear Andrew; Thank you for your greeting; Yes I love languages, each one can give you a completely different way to think and to say things. BTW about L.A & Spain's Spanish ; The differences are minor. In fact, it is the same you'd find between the English spoken in USA and the English spoken in Great Britain. It's the same in Spanish, so if you learn Spanish in Mexico you are going to be able to communicate in Spain, Argentina, Etc. They are the same language. :-) Kind regards. Cecilia.
