Hi, moving to Holland in September from the US. A little nervous with the move but looking forward to meeting and making new friends.

Where are you from originally? Where else have you lived?

Miami, Florida.

What brought you to Amsterdam/The Netherlands? How long have you been living here?

My husband is dutch and he wants to return to his country. He's been living in the US for 4 years but we are ready to start a family and we decided to do it in Holland

What types of events are you most interested in?

any type.. pretty versatile

What times are best for you? Weekdays, weekends, nights, days, etc.?

Hi Ani! If you can believe it, I actually just saw your greeting from August?! How very strange. Anyway, I am sure by now u have adjusted. To answer your question, I am taking Dutch courses which I begin about 5 months after moving here and they finish this coming June. It was paid for by the government and is actually compulsory for me as I am American and my boyfriend is Dutch and I have my visa through him. Were u able to find work here? Drop me another line. I love Miami! U must miss it.

Holland is great, I love it here, although I live in Haarlem, no Amsterdam (of course is not even 15 min away by train!!). Lets keep in touch so we can meet as soon as you get here!! Hi Ani,
You will love Amsterdam and you are doing all the right things to meet friends quickly! I live in MN. I will be renting an apartment on Govert Flinckstraat until mid-Nov. If there is any rare chance you both run and will be living near me, let me know! Let me know if you go to any of these events. I probably will after my family leaves--they will come with me the first 2 wks.
Good luck with your move--stressful, huh! Packing for me is ugh and I'm not actually moving!
